German brewer Schorschbraeu happily hold the world record for the world’ strongest beer with their 31% beer.

BrewDog release Tactical Nuclear Penguin. The penguin is crowned the world’s strongest beer. BrewDog make a video which stars Bracken in a penguin suit. Schorschbraeu throw their toys out of their pram, this amuses us somewhat.

Schorschbraeu claim back their record with a 39.44% beer which they cheekily label as 40% and hope that no-one will notice they have added 0.6% for effect. Regardless this beer now claims the world record and peace is restored to middle Europe.

Round 4

In an unexpected twist, Georg makes an unconventional move and tries to sell his secrets (and perhaps his soul) to BrewDog. Here was his email.

Hallo from germany

today i would like to inform you that we decided to sell our beer-patent for producing high alcohol beers with the actual justbyfermentation-limit of 20% Vol.

These beers are very easy to produce (max. 5 months,one tank,no second,third..fermentation) and can be taken for producing icebock. If you are interested lets stay in contact.

Let us be honest here, Brewdog is about as punk as Elvis Costello was, but what a great name for a beer. Next time, can we call it Dambuster or something like that?

Im with a few others here, i think it was a Bit OTT and not really punk to get personal about it. Saying that I am really looking forward to the new one, when does it go on sale.

I have to say I’m a slight bit disappointed here, for one Brewdog has always being a proactive rather than a reactive company, and this seems just to be a reactive pissing contest. I prefer to see Brewdog pushing boundaries of more than *just* alcohol content. Secondly, for a punk ethos company that tweaks the outrage of the tabloids, doing an promotion that seems aimed at the xenophobia of a Daily Mail reader seems a tad off “ Sink the Bismarck”? Much as I love Brewdog, this just seems cheap and lowest common denominator stuff, which is especially disappointing when it comes from you guys.

Publishing Georg’s private email was below the belt, and as for calling a beer Sink the Bismarck, that’s the lamest thing you’ve ever done. What’s with the German-bashing crap here? I expect that garbage from Shepherd Neame, not BrewDog.

Steve and Jim appear to have navigated away from the Harvieston website..... The Ola Dubh beers are indeed very good. Bitter and Twisted is watery pap drunk by girls however. Try the Brewdog Bashah or the paradow in bottles.... I imagine a cask that has travelled to Norway is unlikely to have the consistency of the bottled stuff, which for a 10% beer is far far too drinkable

I would like to say that i love your Bitter & Twisted beer, not so keen on the engine oil, but still a good shot! Hoping to try the outstanding Ola Dubh which i see has very high ratings! The only one that comes close is Brewdogs Paradox, which is okay i tried it one day on cask in sweden and it was slightly sour but very nice Keep up the good work hope to come visit you guys soon!
