Martin and James visit De Proef Brouwerij, Belgium

Martin and I were in Belguim yesterday and visited the stunning De Proef Brewery near Gent. Dirk de Proef was a very generous host and tour guide as he showed us around his brewery.

His set-up there is amazing. Most of the equipment is supplied by Velo in Italy, the company who we buy most of our kit from. He has 3 brewhouses including a 60HL automated one. Everything is completely state of the art and geared towards making the best beer possible and being flexible enough to create any type of beer imaginable.

Visting De Proef was the highlight of our day of brewery visits. It is pretty similar to what we want to do for our Phase 2 brewery on our field near Aberdeen.

We also visited a few really cool beer bars in Brussels, Delirium Cafe was amazing and had over 2,000 different bottled beers.

Uni-tanks, like the ones we have at BrewDog.

I also found out that I really don't like being shouted at in French. I realise the car-park was not supposed to be open at that time but we had a flight to catch!
