2 upcoming Edinburgh BrewDog Events at Calistoga and Holyrood 9A
BrewDog starts a pie fight
Here at BrewDog we like to keep ourselves to ourselves. We have no wish to upset the status quo, anger the establishment or cause controversy.
Now, none of that may be strictly true. However, we have decided to start a pie fight, and we’ve picked one of our favourite venues for such a thing, Calistoga restaurant in Edinburgh.
The premise is pretty simple, Chris will present a selection of BrewDog beers which will be matched to a selection of pies. Alastair, Calistoga’s resident tasting bod will also present some exciting beers from the home of craft beer, California. This has now been dubbed the ‘East Coast v West Coast Pie Fight’.
The event is on February 23rd. Start time will be 7pm for a starter brew and then a 7.15pm sit down to begin the Pie-Fight! A selection of 3 starter pies will be served with 2 beers, followed by 3 dinner pies with another 2 beers and then a couple of pudding pies with 2 more lovely beers.
Of course, there will be something exciting to end the night with..... and we don’t mean a caffeine hit
Price is £35 per person for 3 courses of pies, coffee, all the beers and the chat.
Calistoga, 70 Rose Street Lane North, Edinburgh EH2 3DX

AB:05 launches at Holyrood 9a
Life is rarely as we expect it to be, but if it were , it would be considerably less interesting, and a lot less exciting.
There are two types of excitement; the type you feel when the girl/boy of your dreams calls out of the blue and asks you to go and enjoy a craft beer on a Californian beach. Then there is the type you feel when you’re paddling your surf board to catch a wave and up pops a shark fin.
BrewDog launches should always illicit excitement of the first kind and we are pretty sure this next one will achieve just that. Minus the Californian beaches.
On February 22nd 2011, a Tuesday for calendar fans, we will be launching the latest edition to our Abstrakt range, AB:05. The beer is a 12.5% Imperial Stout aged on toasted coconut and cacao.
Now, we realise that excitement is to be found on many levels, so we’ve added some. The usual ‘buy a beer, get a raffle ticket’ format will result in tastings of the new IPA is Dead series, Tactical Nuclear Penguin and canned Punk IPA.
Chris will provide a typical haphazard speech, introduce the beers and provide the tastings. Jonny will be milling about having a good time. Feel free to ask them any questions.
Kick off time is 7.30pm and tastings will be on the hour; 8, 9 and 10...... after that you’re on your own. Come along and enjoy!
9A Holyrood Rd, Edinburgh EH8 8AE
To make all of this even better, if you attend both events Chris will present you with an honourary BrewDog Punk IPA T-shirt on the 2nd night! For die-hard craft beer dogs only.
