Bashah Reserve, by Stone and BrewDog
05.10.2010

A Collaborative brew between Stone Brewing Co. www.stonebrew.com and BrewDog.
After over 12 months in the making, a tiny amount of Bashah Reserve is now ready to excite your imaginations and bedazzle your senses. Here is the story of how the beer started out in 2009:
We made less than 750 bottles of each and a small amount is available for a limited time online. The 2 editions are
Bashah 2009 Highland Park and Black Raspberry Reserve
Bashah 2009 Imperial and Tayberry Reserve
Each comes in a 375ml bottle with cork finish. Each bottle is also individually numbered and comes with an awesome hand-drawn custom label from Johanna Basford. The labels are very much pieces of art in their own right.
You can get your paws on some here: http://www.brewdog.com/product.php?id=68
Greg Koch and James tasting the beer with the proto-type label still on!
And a little on the hand-drawn label.......

The paper artwork begins to take shape; a moonlit demon prowls over a tomb-like mound of misshapen skulls, entwined by thorny branches of berries and blossoms. Obviously every discerning illustrator knows black nail polish enhances the macabre nature of any dark piece. Gothic flourishes and curios such as candlelit lanterns, an owl and a distant city skyline create a narrative within the artwork, reflecting the many layers of story and detail which combine to create this dark tipple. The result? An inky nocturnal delirium, as deliciously dark and intricate as the beer it will contain.

- Kieran,
For someone who wasn't that enamoured with the bitterness of the original Bashah, do either of these have their bitterness tamed by the ageing? I'm guessing not.Kevin Burges07.10.2010 - Ive got to say ive already tried these beers (i bottled them :D) and they are both incredible! and despite being a highland park fan, i slightly prefered the imperial one. kieran06.10.2010
- Ordered!
Looking forward to these!
Missed the Bashah first time round.Johnny Mac06.10.2010 - So, according to the video, the Black Raspberries went into the Imperial casks and the Tayberries went into the Highland Park Casks... maybe there's some confusion or maybe this means there will be a second release of Bashah Reserve vice versa!
Either way, I ordered mine.Justin06.10.2010 - this sounds epic.
order duly placed!Adrian06.10.2010 - Very inspiring!
At what point does your beer become fully fledged art and too good to drink?Will05.10.2010
