Just a few updates from the last few days at BrewDog HQ!

Black Tokyo* Horizon, our collaboration with Mikkeller and Nogne O is now bottled and ready to rock in it's oh so pretty little box. Get your paws on some here: http://www.brewdog.com/product/black-tokyo-horizon

This collaborative beer was created when the paths of Mikkeller, Nogne-Ø, and BrewDog merged. It is an equal combination of ideas and inspiration extracted from each brewery’s
espective huge stouts, Black, Dark Horizon, and Tokyo*.

We also have a tiny amount of Hello my name is Ingrid available as an online exclusive. This is a limited release beer made exclusively for Sweden and is a Cloudberry IIPA. http://www.brewdog.com/product/hello-my-name-is-ingrid

Darren Packman, our Top Scandinavian Dog, helped us brew a special beer for the Swedish market. A small batch of a cloudberry IIPA. 8.5% with Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Bramling Cross and some amazing artic circle cloud berries. The beer style and name were decided on by readers of www.BeerSweden.Se Look out for it in Systembolaget soon too.

In other news, we had our awesome staff party on Sunday. A beer dinner @ Musa followed by a rock 'n roll cellar lock in @ BrewDog Aberdeen. This is around 80% of team BrewDog! Including Bracken. *woof*

And we have box hats (or maybe box heads) in Scotland on Sunday. Rock on the new fashion trend! Box it up baby!

  • Black Tokyo* Horizon is certainly worth the money. I shared a bottle with a couple of chaps today (in Aberdeen bar) and for £6.50 I got a third of a bottle of the greatest beer ever that tastes a bit like bacon.

  • I was lucky enough to taste BTH at a tasting (the Rake). My answer is “yes, it’s worth it” and I have forked out the money for a few bottles…If you buy 3 – it’s ‘only’ £13.34
    It’s an amazing beer, that’s also rare and special – and Tokyo isn’t available at the moment, so what am I supposed to drink!? ;-)

    If you've ever tried the Special Brews from Brewdog ie Tokyo* or the BASHAH Special reserves. You will know that they are truly out of this world.
    Worth the money? Of course.
    When you've tasted something of this class there is no turning back from the Dark Side!!!

  • This was a tiny one off batch which used a massive amount of malt and hops. Subsequently it was aged for 7 months in single malt whisky casks, then further aged on pure cacao.

    As it was a collaboration, we also pay the other brewer's travel costs to come and help out etc!

    Small run limited edition beers are always expensive to brew. With ageing they become more expensive.

    The beer however is amazing and we feel offers good value for hardcore imperial stout afficiandos. The presentation boxes rock too.

  • Why is black tokyo horizon so expensive? £15 for 330ml bottle is a bit steep, even if it is 17%+
