BrewDog Bristol is now Officially Open!

On Saturday we officially opened BrewDog Bristol, our ninth craft beer bar. Located at 58 Baldwin Street, the new bar was opened by James, who gave a nod to Bristol’s buccaneering heritage by arriving at BrewDog Bristol on a makeshift pirate ship with a keg of Dog A.

Bristol has always been on our radar; there has always been a solid community of craft beer fans and we’ve been regularly lobbied by them on our blog to choose Bristol as our next location.

Bristol is a city with a great heritage of anti-establishment thinking and BrewDog Bristol is more than another bar; it’s a bastion for the craft beer revolution in the West Country. This is a call to arms for those in Bristol looking to shake the dust from the drinks scene and reject the tasteless, apathetic, mass produced lagers that decorate the majority of bars in the city.

To mark the launch, James Watt arrived on a makeshift pirate ship via the Kennett and Avon canal, complete with Jolly Roger flag and first-mate Jonny Bright, BrewDog Bristol’s manager. Bristol’s is a city inherently linked to pirates, so we thought we’d arrive to the sound of sea shanties on the canal. Well, that and we just like boats.
