In October 2009 BrewDog, as a two year old company, took an unprecedented step and became a plc. Then, in a ground-breaking European first, we offered the public the opportunity to buy shares in our company online.

We wanted the people who enjoy our beers to be involved in the ownership of our company and officially join the BrewDog team.  The project was known as ‘Equity for Punks’. Over 1300 people invested.

By Shareholders, For Shareholders - The Equity for Punks Beer 2011! 

Since they own part of our company, they really should help out with all the cool things like new recipe development and also all the hard work, like making the actual beer.

So we are going to make a new beer! Designed by, brewed by Equity for Punks shareholders. And we are inviting them to the brewery to help brew it too!

We will develop the recipe together on the www.equityforpunks.com website new page then we will have an open day (Saturday May 7^th) at the brewery where they will get the chance to come and brew the beer with us! The beer will then be sold on keg in our bar and in bottles online, only to shareholders.  

As well as brewing the beer they all designed on the open day they will get an behind the scenes look at our brewery, a chance to meet the team and a chance to taste some new secret beers straight from the tanks! We will also be barbequing some burgers at the brewery to get everyone through all the hard work. We may even let them pick the mash tun sound-track!

We will have a bus leaving from Aberdeen on May 7^th to get you all to the brewery and also returning to Aberdeen later in the day. We will have an event in Musa on the evening of May the 7^th and a line up of special beers at BrewDog Aberdeen for you to try.

All shareholders have been emailed details of how to book their place.  

For those of you who missed you the last time we sold some shares in BrewDog, it is very likely there will be an opportunity later in 2011 (hopefully June) to invest in our company and be involved in our cool shareholder stuff. Anyone from Europe will be able to invest in our company and take part in events like these and our (soon to be legendary) AGMs as well as benefit financially from the growth of BrewDog.
