Franz's BrewDay in BrewDog Aberdeen
19.09.2011

On Sunday, our Lead Brewer Franz, packed up our 50L pilot plant in the BrewDog van added some awesome hops and malt and headed for BrewDog Aberdeen.
For the previous 2 weeks, scamps in our Aberdeen Bar have been voting (via a very high tech chalkboard) to decide which beer would be brewed in the bar. 'Hoportunity Knocked' and everyone was invited to help.
You guys voted for a Brown Ale with Hazelnuts and then duly helped Franz brew the beer yesterday. Franz took loads of awesome malts and hops with him too to let people see just how our beers are actually made during this live, interactive brewing demonstration. The only low point was people eating the ingredients.
The 50L keg we brewed will only be available on draft in BrewDog Aberdeen and will be ready in around 4 weeks time. Here are some of the photos.

Hop Time.

Some honey and hazlenuts.

The BrewDog Aberdeen team add the final hops.

Look out for similar Brew Sundays in BrewDog Glasgow and BrewDog Edinburgh coming soon. And a big thanks to all who helped brew the beer!

- Cheers for the awesome afternoon guys, it was a real privilege to brew with Franz.
Alex T20.09.2011 - Was an enjoyable and very educational afternoon. I'm tempted to spend some time and money in the plumbing section of B&Q tomorrow and build something similar in my shed.
Franz is the dogs b@ll@cks.
When can we do it again?iprise19.09.2011 - it would be nice if you started selling pilot plants. Fantastice for a novice with no brewing experience rich19.09.2011
- Epic sunday afternoon! Franz was awesome, explained how it all worked and even let me add some hops and taste the brew at different stages. Cool to see on a mini scale what goes on in the Land of BrewDog! When's the next one?! John19.09.2011
