The Hunter Foundation Pale Ale
The Hunter Foundation Pale Ale is now on draft in all of our BrewDog bars. At BrewDog we have been called everything from 'egotistical maniacs' by the revered (!?!) Roger Protz to the 'enfant terrible' of UK brewing. We are often held responsible for both binge drinking and quite possibly the downfall of Western Civilisation.
However, despite all this once you dig a little deeper we are just a bunch of people who care passionately about great beer forging ahead in a stuffy industry.
We were recently honoured by Sir Tom Hunter spending a day with us at BrewDog HQ. Sir Tom is Scotland's one of the UK's most succesful business people ever and one of the world's leading philanthropists through his work with The Hunter Foundation.
Sir Tom on a mission with Bill Clinton.
The Hunter Foundation (THF) is a proactive venture philanthropy that seeks to invest in determining model solutions, in partnership with others, to troubling systemic issues relating to poverty eradication and educational enablement. You can find our more here http://www.thehunterfoundation.co.uk/
So with Sir Tom visiting us we were able to get his thoughts and input on our business and our plans: The afternoon with Sir Tom was like the most awesome brain storming session ever. We also thought it would be great to get him to make his own beer for The Hunter Foundation and give the proceeds to charity.
Putting together the recipe with Martin. We brewed a 5% American Pale Ale.
Mashing in with James.
£2 from the sale of every pint sold in our bars goes direct to The Hunter Foundation. So go drink some and stock up on good karma at the same time! It is a great cause and one we are really happy to be supporting. Bottles will be available on our online shop in the next week or so with 100% of the proceeds going to The Hunter Foundation too!
- BrewDog and Tom Hunter! Wicked combination. You guys should try and get him to join your board.
- Really cool thing to do. Go BrewDog!
- Great to see a young company making such a big contribution to a very worthwhile cause. Give yourselves a pat on the back (or a scratch behind the ear?!) John B03.07.2012
- Had this in BD Edinburgh at the weekend, thought it was really good. BenH03.07.2012
