- Brew Sheet
Dead Metaphor was brewed in collaboration with two beer writers; Rob Derbyshire, Hopzine, and Richard Taylor, The Beer Cast. It contains all the things writers need to get those creative gears turning; oatmeal, coffee, milk, and chocolate for good measure.
Dead Metaphor is as smooth as velvet, but with huge depth and complexity. Initially sweet and light, the malt bill introduces milk chocolate balanced with roastiness, and perhaps a tiny twist of acicidy, minerality, or even berry flavours from the combination of coffee beans and Magnum hops. This progresses towards deep, darker chocolate flavours, which emerge alongside plums, dark berries, ripe red fruit, and powerful coffee notes.
The combination of a thick luscious texture with the gentle carbonation gives a liquid velvet feel; thick but bubbly, like a chocolate and coffee honeycomb.
Dead Metaphor is a thought provoking beer, to be enjoyed whilst typing up your magnum opus, or sipping whilst wearing a velvet smoking jacket, perched on a leather armchair, playing chess by post with the remnants of a 19th century Russion aristocrat who exists only in spectral form.
