You know how it used to go. There’d be that unbearable moment of excitement as you pulled your tiny chair up to the desk and selected that pure, unsullied piece of lined paper. Then a crayon, and you’d be ready to write the most important letter of the year. To Santa. But what to ask for? After underlining PUPPY several times, just to make sure he gets the message this year, you’d spend the rest of the afternoon listing toys in increasing order of the spectacular. That Castle Grayskull is the least he could do, seeing as how you’ve behaved for the last few weeks. After all, if you’re going to get every He-Man figure, you’ll need the castle to keep them in…

Ok, times have moved on and the Big Man in Red tends not to reply to your missives anymore (besides, the kids of today probably have an app they use to ask him for presents, or something). But one good thing about being an adult is that you don’t necessarily have to wait for Christmas; sitting bolt upright in bed at 2am on the 25th is a thing of the past, unless you have a cat prone to nocturnal aggression (or children, of course). Speaking of early presents, here’s a heads up about a few cool things we have ongoing in the run-up to Christmas, plus those all-important last order dates for delivery from our Online Shop

When in one of our bars, it’s great to be able to wander over to the counter and ask one of our highly-trained staff for suggestions (or simply hand over your money having already chosen). But if you’ve secured that comfy booth and can’t face the trip, all of our UK bars now offer table service! Sit tight, and you’ll be able to get that same fantastic assistance without having to take your eye off that pressing game of Kerplunk. Just look out for our custom-uniformed table staff and give them a wave. Or if you happen to be drinking in BrewDog Liverpool, use the ‘push for service’ buttons so we know when to head over and take your order!

The weather has definitely taken a turn for the sharper, so what better way to throw a blanket over those winter chills than with a glass of mulled Dogma! Some of our UK bars have been warming the proverbial cockles this way for a while, but the rest also now have a dedicated bain-marie filled with our lusciously-spiced recipe. Featuring cinnamon, star anise, cloves, nutmeg and dehydrated lemon and orange, our bar staff blend this with honey, orange, Kraken rum and that all-important Scotch Ale, for your winter recovery package in a glass. You can even buy a mulled Dogma kit in our Online Shop, ready for some mulling action at home!

We’ve teamed up with gourmet popcorn experts Joe&Seph’s to release a range of what we think is the ultimate bar-snack pairing. Working together, we have matched each BrewDog headliner with a specific flavour of gourmet popcorn, to highlight the very best qualities of both. The popcorn packs are releasing this week in our UK bars, and include such delights as Goat’s Cheese and Black Pepper (suggested pairing: Dead Pony Pale Ale), smooth Caramel and Espresso (Brixton Porter) and Madras Curry with Lime & Black Onion Seeds (Punk IPA). Time to get popping!

And we’re not done when it comes to bar snacks. Also fresh to our UK bars very soon; from the fingerfood-fond land of Germany, we can announce a very special festive treat – Weyermann candy malt. Yes, those crafty Franconians have only gone and added a frosted coating to their delectable air-dried malt. The result? Whilst sipping a beer, you can chew on the very backbone of its construction – and in the process pair sweet, malty goodness with…well, sweet, malty goodness. Try crunching a handful in between mouthfuls of Cocoa Psycho, for instance, and see just how perfectly one complements the other.

As of today, we are offering 15% off soft drinks for designated drivers in UK BrewDog bars. If you've got your car keys at the bar and are ordering a cola, coffee or our world-famous 0.5% Nanny State, we'll reward your kind sacrifice with 15% off your chosen beverage.

Back in the day, when posting that all-important letter to Santa it was vital to make sure it made it to the North Pole in time! With that in mind, here are the final ordering dates for deliveries from our Online Shop in time for Christmas…

International Orders: Midday, Monday 8th December (so get clicking!)

European Orders: Midday, Friday 12th December

UK Mainland Orders: Midday, Friday 19th December

Final Delivery Day of the Year: Tuesday 23rd December

Please note - the warehouse and helpdesk will close on Tuesday the 23rd of December, reopening on Monday the 5th of January 2015.

Is there anything else you’d like to see on your BrewDog Christmas list? It certainly came early for James, last week…

After a thumb-numbing one hundred and three-pages of written hell, James got through the other side of the world's toughest test in beer. Four oral exams and six tasting panels also constituted the Master Cicerone trial – and after a long and nervous wait, our James came on out top. After passing, he is now the first Master Cicerone in Europe, and one of only nine in the world. Kudos, Cap'n James!
