Pussy Riot Benefit at BrewDog Newcastle
Most of you will be familiar with the story of Pussy Riot, the anonymous Russian feminist performance art group, members of which were sentenced to labour colonies earlier this year for ‘hooliganism on the grounds of religious hatred.’
BrewDog Newcastle has decided to raise its voice in protest against the treatment of the Pussy Riot protestors and, on Sunday December 16th is holding a ‘Free Pussy Riot Benefit’. Combining local art, music and charity to raise the profile of issues we let pass us by every day, what better way to gorge your sense and feed your mind than with a pint of your favourite BrewDog in hand!
Kicking off at 5pm, the live music line-up includes The Painkillers, Fanny Lennox, Witch Hands, Clits(in)Action and Beauty Pageant; and a limited run of charity t-shirts, prints and totes designed by local artists will be available throughout the day.
This will be a free entry event, with money raised from the prints going towards Amnesty International. There will also be representatives from other local charity organisations pitched up in the mezzanine, and speciality pro-Pussy Riot beer cocktails the scamps at Newcastle Bar have knocked up for the occasion with all proceeds going to charity, be sure to check them out.
The event kicks off at 5pm this Sunday, check out BrewDog Newcastle’s Twitter and Facebook for more info and looking forward to seeing you there!
