Our look ahead to next year on Planet BrewDog has led to this point – we have detailed the plans for our beers, our bars, and Ellon BrewHQ so far, and in this final update we are revealing plans to set our sights even further. In 2017 we are going global.

As ever, anything you read here that you want to discuss, suggest or question please let us know by entering a comment in the form below this blog post. The response so far has been amazing, and we are massively pleased you guys are just as psyched as we are to learn of our plans for the next twelve months! So without further ado, let’s pick up that Atlas of the World.

And we begin with an update from BrewDog USA…

Equity for Punks USA

We’re two months into the most ambitious project in our history (following construction of BrewDog Columbus, and more on that in a moment) – giving the people of the USA and the rest of the world a chance to invest in BrewDog USA as part of our ground-breaking Equity for Punks offering. As things stand we have had a fantastic response, with over 3,000 US Equity Punks joining the ranks of their European compatriots; the three states leading the charge being Ohio, California and Texas.

We often get asked exactly where our newly-minted Equity Punk discount cards can be deployed in the United States, and in the coming twelve months we are going to set about the streets and highways on a BrewDog roadtrip to uncover some amazing locations for our American bars. Stand by for a Great BrewDog USA Bar Hunt blog post soon – and if there are any US cities that would be a great fit for us, leave a comment below to get us started!

BrewDog Columbus

As a thousand or so of our new US Equity Punks discovered for themselves last month, our 100,000ft2 building is complete and looking utterly amazing. Next year is going to be the year that our American Dream really comes to life, however, as we will have installed all the equipment and will be ready to fire everything up. Our 200HL/170 Barrel brewhouse is making its way from Esau & Hueber in Germany as you read this, and the first test batches are scheduled for late January 2017.

We are also set to add a state of the art Krones canning line into our Columbus brewhouse that will whirr into operation once the calendar flicked over. As we told you recently, the very first beer that we will be producing in the US will be to commemorate the repealing of Ohio’s antiquated high-strength beer ban, unleashing the full power of our brewkit on The End of History as an exclusive for those who invest more than $20,000!

International Collabfest

With 27 different beers pouring at the same time in 27 different bars around the UK for three entire days, #CollabFest2016 has become the country’s largest multi-venue craft beer festival – two weekends ago we had a fantastic time enjoying the products of our bars’ teams ingenuity as their paired up with a local craft brewery to plan, create and brew a beer. But one question we are often asked is what about our bars around the world? When do they get to join in?

The answer is 2017.

We are looking at blowing the doors off #CollabFest and making it global. Sending our Roppongi crew to a leading Japanese craft brewer. Getting our team in São Paulo together with a local brewery to invent something uniquely Brazilian. The possibilities are endless – we could pair up our Stockholm bars and face them off against a Göteborg/Malmö alliance. Have all our London bars come together for one epic brewday. Then collate all the beers and pour them at once, all over the world on the same day. How does that sound?

Euro Brewpub

Despite the happenings politically over the course of this year, Europe is very much where it’s at as far as we are concerned. Still our largest export market, the greatest concentration of our non-UK customers, and the continent with the highest number of International BrewDog bars. With so many different craft beer scenes flourishing, emerging and/or modernising it is a tapestry of different flavours all underpinned by an outgoing love for amazing beer.

And we are heading there in a big way. Our increased capacity thanks to the expansion of our East brewhouse means more beer for these thirsty markets, and we are also working on ways to reduce shipping costs imposed on us by courier firms. Plus we are looking at not just more bars, but a new way of having BrewDog beer abroad – our first European BrewDog brewpub. We have a city in mind for this, but we will keep it under wraps for now. Unless you ask nicely.

Stand by for news on that and much more very soon – also for that blog post about our Great USA BrewDog Bar Hunt, so be sure and fire down your suggestions in the comments below. As we said the other day, our DogTap Columbus build begins this week and should see the first beer pouring in three months’ time or so. Plus we are soon to be revealing more info on the BrewDog USA Jobs we are seeking to fill. As ever, anything you’d like to suggest or discuss, leave us a comment below – and thanks for reading this series of posts over the last week!

2017 is set to be a huge, colossal, fantastic year for everyone here at BrewDog and those of you who enjoy what we do. From the twin foundations of our Beer and our People, we are going to rock our tenth year from start to finish – it’s going to be one heck of a ride on Planet BrewDog.

It's an brainer. We must have a BrewDog bar in the epicenter of craft beer--San Diego. Imagine regular partnerships with Greg Koch's crew at Stone? And as for where in San Diego that choice is easy too--you have to be in the eye of the storm on 30th Street. There is no location that would make it clear we are bringing it to the yanks. (Disclaimer: I live on 28th Street so no self-interest there) But I will even help set it up or even run it for yoo.

The square of Murfreesboro TN, home of MTSU and just outside Nashville would be an excellent spot with reasonable overhead. Other places would be East Nashville, the gulch or the up and coming metro center area of Nashville.

The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN, USA are a craft beer lover's paradise, if a bit unknown to the rest of the US. It's a hidden gem of sorts for a Brewdog location - big, public market with relatively cheap property/rental costs.

How about starting a Brewdog bar in Bergen, Norway?
Jacob 31.10.2016 @ 12:29pm
Fort Collins CO. For this is a collage City with at least 30+ Breweries/Micro Pubs. People here always like to explore in different flavors. Plus where people live in Casper, Wyoming, All over Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota do not have travel that far to get to one of your beer bars!! You could stock so many great beer on your taps in Fort Collins and even do bottles for sale inside the bar. At least take all of this consideration and truly check Fort Collins CO out. You could get the surrounding States even driving there just to go to your bar too.
David 31.10.2016 @ 12:17pm
I wonder if the brewpub will be in Copenhagen...
