The third weekend in October seems like a long time ago, but our four day extravaganza dedicated to teamwork and creativity lives long in the memory. The beer that won #Collabfest (from a field of over fifty) was the result of the partnership between BrewDog York and Turning Point Brew Co. Mint choc chip pale ale isn’t your typical beer style – but then, #Collabfest isn’t your typical beer festival.

Such was its reception that we had to invite the guys from Turning Point up to Ellon for a rebrew, and they duly made the trip north from Kirkbymoorside. The result is your new summer cooler; at 5.7% ABV it is brewed with wheat and flaked oats to boost the body and contains milk sugars, cocoa nibs and mint for the full effect. Chip Hazard is fragrant and floral but with a mainline note of bitter dark mint chocolate leading into sweetness and rich creamy flavour as good as anything you can get from a stop me and buy one.

BrewDog vs Turning Point Chip Hazard is available online now, and launches on draft in our UK BrewDog Bars from 6pm tonight (Thursday 18th July).

0.5% ABV Coffee Stout / 30 Day IPA

Also live in our bars from 6pm tonight are a couple of small batch releases, one new and one returning. The new arrival is a first for us – a low ABV coffee stout that hits with toasty, roasted espresso notes alongside cocoa, vanilla and hints of milk sugar sweetness. Served on keg it is sure to wake you up, but rolling in at 0.5% ABV it definitely won’t overstay its welcome.

The third beer to hit the taps tonight is a new batch of our cold-chain champion 30 Day IPA. We have ensured the beer is stored and shipped entirely chilled, as a celebration of freshness. This West Coast IPA has a toasted caramel base with high-lines of tropical fruit, mango, yuzu and lychee and every aspect of that flavour profile is retained, in perfect condition, thanks to continual cold storage.
