In 2007, BrewDog started life as two men and one dog. Over the past 10 years, we have grown our business primarily via crowdfunding, and are proud to be represented by our community of more than 55,000 Equity Punk investors, and their four-legged friends.

Today, we’re taking the commitment of our canine companions to the next level by becoming the first company to allow you to gift shares in BrewDog to your dog! This is our way of rewarding our four-legged friends for their fervent support over the years, with a beery Christmas gift.

Equity for Pups is an extension of our fifth round of Equity for Punks, which recently hit the £5.5million milestone, recruiting 10,000 new shareholders into our ranks! We are looking to raise £10million, with a stretch goal of £50million, to further our global expansion. You can buy shares for yourself, or you can gift them to someone else, and now, dogs can be a part of our global crew of crowdfunding crusaders.

BrewDog has always been a particularly dog-friendly place, since co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie were inspired to name the brewery after James’ chocolate Labrador, Bracken, the original BrewDog. This year, we introduced Puppy Pawternity leave whereby we allowed our staff to take a week’s paid holiday when they get a new dog, and our teams are welcome to bring their dogs to work with them. BrewDog bars are dog-friendly environments, with many a furry-friend frequenting our venues across the UK, and we actively support Guide Dogs Scotland.

By gifting shares to a pup, you will actually be gifting them to the doggy’s owner, as dogs cannot legally own shares themselves. Understandably, casting votes at an AGM might get quite difficult if we have to translate all our business updates into barks and yaps. But for every investment made via Equity for Pups between now and midnight on the 14th December 2017, we will donate £5 to Guide Dogs Scotland. Equity Pups will also be granted honorary shareholder status, will receive Equity Punk emails translated into woofs, and the first 200 dogs to be gifted shares will receive a special engraved gift to celebrate their commitment to great craft beer!
