We love our BrewDog fans in the long, low North – Scandinavia and the Nordic regions have seemingly taken us to heart like nowhere else. What we do clearly resonates with the hard-working, hard-living people there, and we are committed to getting as much awesome BrewDog beer there as we can. That makes today all the more special, as the doors to our latest Scandinavian outpost are opening for the first time. Say hello to BrewDog Grünerløkka!
Yes, we are finally coming to Norway. Oslo is one of Europe’s great cities, and for a long time we have wanted to fling back the doors of a BrewDog bar there. It’s been quite a ride though, as local conditions are somewhat authoritarian! Norway’s strict alcohol laws mean we’re running the bar on the down-low, so don’t expect thirty-metre high neon, or animatronic James and Martin robots, beckoning you inside. Instead, our first bar in Norway will be called simply BD57.
BD57 is located at Markveien 57, 0554 Oslo and will be pouring craft beer from twenty taps, ten of which will be permanently dedicated to BrewDog. The others will be offering a selection of beers from around the world, local Norwegian breweries, cider and there will even be a distinct tap for sour beer! We’ll also have over fifty different bottled beers, and our team there are working with local breweries from Western Norway to bring BD57 customers a range of craft beer not normally seen in Oslo.
Manager Jan Thomas and his hand-picked team will also be serving up a range of barfood, only with a twist. To reduce food miles and support the amazing local producers in Grünerløkka, BD57 will be utilising ingredients sourced from the neighbourhood, rather than large or multinational retailers. So think sausages and other meaty options from the nearby butcher; bread and pastries from the baker around the corner, and vegetables from small Oslo suppliers.
Aside from the freshest craft beer and interesting food on offer, we are also planning a series of events for the Grünerløkka site. So expect beer and food pairing evenings, tap takeovers with talks from the brewers invited, and even markets with local artists. As the building has a cool basement area, it is also perfectly suited to live music, so check out the bar’s page on our website to stay in touch with exactly what is going on!
We can’t wait to welcome the legion of Norwegian BrewDog fans through the doors. And those doors will be open at 6pm tonight! Hei Norway!

The last photo seems to have been influenced by Ralph Steadman.
We had Nanny State on draft which is always nice!
Was especially fun catching up with Dave fae Ellon. Small world....
Is it really true that we cannot use our discount cards? This is a big downturn for the Punks!
Anyway, I will keep going there, but if we cannot use our well deserved discount cards, are you guys thinking in another kind of benefits the Equity Punks?
Cheers!
Mona - Well, it is a bit early...
RLaw - Unfortunately, due to local licensing regulation, Equity Punk discounts are not available at this bar.
