We love our BrewDog fans in the long, low North – Scandinavia and the Nordic regions have seemingly taken us to heart like nowhere else. What we do clearly resonates with the hard-working, hard-living people there, and we are committed to getting as much awesome BrewDog beer there as we can. That makes today all the more special, as the doors to our latest Scandinavian outpost are opening for the first time. Say hello to BrewDog Grünerløkka!

Yes, we are finally coming to Norway. Oslo is one of Europe’s great cities, and for a long time we have wanted to fling back the doors of a BrewDog bar there. It’s been quite a ride though, as local conditions are somewhat authoritarian! Norway’s strict alcohol laws mean we’re running the bar on the down-low, so don’t expect thirty-metre high neon, or animatronic James and Martin robots, beckoning you inside. Instead, our first bar in Norway will be called simply BD57.

BD57 is located at Markveien 57, 0554 Oslo and will be pouring craft beer from twenty taps, ten of which will be permanently dedicated to BrewDog. The others will be offering a selection of beers from around the world, local Norwegian breweries, cider and there will even be a distinct tap for sour beer! We’ll also have over fifty different bottled beers, and our team there are working with local breweries from Western Norway to bring BD57 customers a range of craft beer not normally seen in Oslo.

Manager Jan Thomas and his hand-picked team will also be serving up a range of barfood, only with a twist. To reduce food miles and support the amazing local producers in Grünerløkka, BD57 will be utilising ingredients sourced from the neighbourhood, rather than large or multinational retailers. So think sausages and other meaty options from the nearby butcher; bread and pastries from the baker around the corner, and vegetables from small Oslo suppliers.

Aside from the freshest craft beer and interesting food on offer, we are also planning a series of events for the Grünerløkka site. So expect beer and food pairing evenings, tap takeovers with talks from the brewers invited, and even markets with local artists. As the building has a cool basement area, it is also perfectly suited to live music, so check out the bar’s page on our website to stay in touch with exactly what is going on!

We can’t wait to welcome the legion of Norwegian BrewDog fans through the doors. And those doors will be open at 6pm tonight! Hei Norway!

Didn't know there was so many other brew dog loving North-East Scots living in Oslo! Good to know! I'm popping down for a few pints on Friday, can't wait! Had a great time on Tuesday night! ????????

Big thank you to everyone who came down for the opening. Was great seeing so many people enjoying the bar.

We had Nanny State on draft which is always nice!

Was especially fun catching up with Dave fae Ellon. Small world....

Burba - Glad you enjoyed the bar! Unfortunately, it is true that we cannot offer EFP discounts at BD57. This is totally outwith our control. Maybe we should follow Anders' suggestion and stock Nanny State as a result...
Anders 17.06.2015 @ 9:02pm
Are you going to serve Nanny State on tap?
Burba 17.06.2015 @ 7:12pm
I was at the BD57 yesterday, good atmosphere, nice staff, great food, and the awesome Brewdog beers...
Is it really true that we cannot use our discount cards? This is a big downturn for the Punks!
Anyway, I will keep going there, but if we cannot use our well deserved discount cards, are you guys thinking in another kind of benefits the Equity Punks?
Cheers!
Dave fae Ellon 17.06.2015 @ 2:31pm
As a fellow "Ellonite" it would be wrong of me not to pop in past since I work in Oslo :0)
Martin 17.06.2015 @ 1:24pm
I will be heading along tonight! Looking forward to it a lot

Twenty taps sound great - shame about the discount, Norway sucks sometimes. Thanks for making it a little better over here!

Stian - Fisher outdid himself with the wall art this time! :)

Mona - Well, it is a bit early...

RLaw - Unfortunately, due to local licensing regulation, Equity Punk discounts are not available at this bar.

Hi Stian, you must go there and send back a report. Hope to use my shareholders discount card when I visit BD57.
Mona O 17.06.2015 @ 10:52am
An Equity Punk friend of mine went yesterday, I think they had a good time as they are very quiet this morning :)
Vex 17.06.2015 @ 10:48am
I was wondering what you would do to get round the law here. BD57? Ok cool
Stian 17.06.2015 @ 10:46am
Had to be moose on the walls! Grünerløkka is a cool place to put it, too
