Help us craft our copy!

Help us craft our copy!

As regular readers of our blog will be aware, we are currently in the process of developing our packaging. We have had the same look since our inception in 2007 and, as much as we love it, we know it's time for a change.

Our online communities and shareholders have been incredibly vocal and helpful in their feedback on our new labels, and we really appreciate all the comments you've contributed so far.

Your opinions matter to us. And that's why we are turning to you to help develop the next stage in our brand evolution; the words we print on our bottles.

We were considering ways to get more involvement from the dedicated, committed craft beer community, and the way we'd like to do this is to invite you to send us the words you feel best reflect your favourite BrewDog beer. We will then select the best submissions (the ones that really ring true and best describe our beers) and print these on our bottles for a limited period.

We believe this will give people who pick up a bottle of Libertine Black Ale in a bottle shop a real insight into what Josie from St Ives thinks it tastes like.  Or perhaps it'll help someone in a shop understand what the first sip of Punk IPA is like, as told by Andrew, a twitter follower from Derby.

What do you want to tell the world about your favourite BrewDog beer?

This will be a project that we'll look to run annually to keep it fresh, as we rotate through different label texts. Selected contributors  whose copy is selected for inclusion will have their name credited on all labels printed with their words, receive a case of the beer with their copy on the label, £50 beer bucks to spend in our bars and bottle shops and a goody bag.

To submit your copy for our Headliners and Amplified ranges, please complete this form

Thanks in advance for your beery words of wisdom!

Like the idea for the copy from the people that drink it. Fun marketing campaign.But....Im a designer and dont think the new design is bad, just as others have said. Just a bit boring for the brand! Think it will get a bit lost on the shelf with the craft beers that have similar designs.I want mad as a box of frogs.... Not a lifeless as a box of dead frogs ;) Too safe boys....

Great

The labels look great, I think. By far the best of the options you posted (srsly, wtf were the beardy hipsters bottles all about? It was about as subtle as (and probably would have been less successful than) writing This beer is hip, please buy for this reason on the side. And youd have had to change it in 6 weeks once beards arent cool anymore). The branding was in sore need of a change. The older one had served its purpose and was starting to look dated. I wasnt a mad fan of the previous branding anyway, it must be said.

Bad idea changing the labels. They are great against the saturation of everything else out there. These are trying far to hard! Solid colour application on the current range is stand out and has great brand recognition amongst everything else. Dont fix what aint broke!! Amazing beer

Wowzers. Proof that you can never please people on the internet.I think this is an awesome idea. Ill ponder some poetic spiel for Jack Hammer while I drink one later (any excuse)!

But what about the Zeitgeist?!
birras a tutti 29.07.2014 @ 3:20pm
New design is the most conventional and corporate I can think... Guys we are not expecting a flaming Mohawk or a black unicorn shooting blood through its horn, but come on... You have achieved your respect and consideration making good beer and do not caring so much about market rules, new design seem to be harrods friendly more than for a bottle of independent, no frills, craft beer

MMMMMMMM Cocoa Psycho. Must taste some to get those creative juices flowing ;)

I am kind of old-fashioned. I would say, Oldies but goodies.

Whats with all the antsy pansty copywriters? This isnt getting people to work for free, its crowdsourcing. Noone is being forced into it. Jeez
Em 29.07.2014 @ 1:39pm
Nice way to get us involved :) Have submitted mine for 5am saint! Fingers cossed!
MickMickMick 29.07.2014 @ 1:39pm
I dont like it. Its not loud enough. Its not punk! It just looks a bit bland and corporate. Change it! Do something crazy!
GeorgeK 29.07.2014 @ 1:39pm
Guys. Theyve hired copywriters, theyre not looking for professionals to work for free, theyre getting real peoples opinions. Relax.

Love the new branding - cant wait to see it on shelf!
danwisco 29.07.2014 @ 1:32pm
Your current packaging is just gaining recognition here in Wisconsin, USA. I love the current packaging and the beer even more! As a designer, the new concept packaging doesnt thrill me as much.
judycopywriter 29.07.2014 @ 12:49pm
Cheapskates. Hire a professional, why dont you?
Dan Schonhaar 29.07.2014 @ 12:35pm
Done. Drawing on inspiration from an American Classic, I think Ive captured what Jack Hammer is all about.
Strojek 29.07.2014 @ 12:31pm
I think this brand isnt good for Brew Dog. I work 2 years in The Beer Store in Warsaw. My klients like this beer and ween i show on notebook new brands they told me bad opinion. Voice from Poland
BeerMATTS 29.07.2014 @ 12:03pm
The labels are far too busy on the eye and look like something far cheaper then the beer deserves. Also make a 4% Milk Stout without having to put cacoa and fucking oak chips in! Thats something the Brewdog beer fans want!Make beer not bullshitI do love your beer........ MATT
Zef 29.07.2014 @ 11:32am
Bit of a low move from a company I respect so much.
Wordsmith 29.07.2014 @ 11:05am
