We’re just into #MashTag week here at BrewDog (and our Malt and ABV options will be up soon!), but there are many other cool things going on at the moment – so we wanted to take a minute and bring you the detail on a fantastic cause that we are supporting. Launching today is a crowdfunding campaign from the guys behind the amazing Social Bite. Their new campaign – BrewGooder – is the start of a journey to provide one million people with access to clean water.
Because when you drink BrewGooder beers, you are providing drinking water to someone who needs it.
Alan and Josh, the guys behind BrewGooder, use their passion and business skill to help people, and have combined the two with their love of craft beer to brew a fantastic lager at our Ellon brewhouse. 100% of the profits will be donated to water projects in areas of need – such as the Nora Doherty School in Malawi, where solar-powered water stations will guarantee improved access to a safe source of hydration and sanitation.
BrewGooder’s Clean Water Lager is a 4.9% beer hopped with Saaz and Sorachi Ace. The barley and a touch of wheat in the grist round the beer out beautifully, with a crisp finish coupled with a hit of citrus. As our contribution to this amazing project, we are brewing and supplying the beer at zero margin – and the first packaged run of the beer will be released in limited-edition-design cans this May. However it will be available as a one-off draft tonight launching across all UK BrewDog bars!
You can support BrewGooder by buying the Clean Water Lager, and by supporting and funding them on their IndieGoGo campaign here. For different levels of donations, you will be able to unlock different levels of perks including updates on how the project in Africa is developing, first-run cans of Clean Water Lager delivered to you, and other amazing and incremental rewards!
We are hugely pleased to support Alan and Josh and their BrewGooder Foundation, with their truly incredible ambition to provide access to clean water for one million people within five years through the power of great tasting beer. 100% of the profits will be used to fund projects with their charity partners, Oxfam, WaterAid and Mercy Corps, making an instant impact for some of the world’s poorest people.
And don’t forget, BrewGooder Clean Water Lager launches tonight at 6pm on draft in all UK BrewDog bars – so head on down, #DrinkBeerGiveWater, and help this amazingly worthy cause. And you can find their crowdfunding page here.
