To our American friends, this coming Saturday is one of the most notable dates in the diary (after Thanksgiving and Super Bowl Sunday). When the calendar clacks around to the 4th of July, it is cause for a celebration as Americans toast their founding fathers by commemorating and partying in equal measure. Central to this; those pillars of Stateside life – beer, whiskey, soul-food and music. Well this Saturday, on this Independence Day, we are joining in!

That is when the doors officially open to our new all-American craft beer, whiskey and underground gaming bar – Two-Bit. Located in the basement of BrewDog Shoreditch, we have renovated UnderDog and brought it to life with a selection of retro coin-op and arcade games. Whether it’s a challenge of skill or simply a chance to relieve frustrations, Two-Bit is now the place to get your button-mashing fix.

Those who descend into Two-Bit will find fully playable pinball machines: Metallica, Getaway, Rolling Stones, Pirates of the Caribbean and Dirty Harry. Also ready to light up – classic arcades including the original blockbuster, Space Invaders. Aside from the visual treats, the full BrewDog Shoreditch food menu will be available in its new downstairs joint, along with daily specials; and if you really can’t tear yourself away from the joystick frenzy – exclusive Billy Frank’s jerky.

In keeping with the theme of Americana, Two-Bit will be majoring in the freshest US craft beer that we can get our hands on. With designated taps for different beer styles, we’ll be rotating through amazing draught imports from the likes of Victory, Ska Brewing, Firestone Walker, Almanac and Half Moon Bay Brewing Co. So, for instance, whilst the dedicated barrel-aged tap might feature Oskar Blues sherry barrel-aged G’Knight, the amber/brown tap would be pouring Odell’s Runoff Red.

So whilst many millions of people are celebrating on the 4th of July, we will be proudly opening a small slice of the very best aspects of American life, in an underground electronic playground off Bethnal Green Road. Two-Bit – your new home for that retro fix – opens this Saturday. Come down and live the dream!

battlegarden - it's not that it didn't work out, we wanted to mix it up a bit and give it a new look :)

beerdude - wait and see on that front!

hoptato - Don't worry, there are still plenty of reasons to head down the stairs!

Does this mean that the original UnderDog concept didn't work out, or is this UnderDog+upgrades?
BeerDude 03.07.2015 @ 12:18am
Hoping for something similar downstairs at the new Aberdeen location *crosses fingers*
Hoptato 02.07.2015 @ 11:52pm
So what about the cool beer cocktails?
Sounds great though!

Phil - Again, someone beat me to it - must be slow on the draw today! Yes, Two-Bit only serves US craft beer, but our full BrewDog range is a mere staircase away.

FragUK - Interesting point. We could probably get a few machines down there! It might be a bit of a squeeze though...
Fraguk 02.07.2015 @ 12:14pm
Any chance you might do the same with the downstairs bar in Camden? Or is slightly undersized for something like this?
Plummy 02.07.2015 @ 12:07pm
Phil this is just the basement bar, the upstairs bar has all the brewdog beer
Phil 02.07.2015 @ 11:28am
Rich, is it true that there's no BrewDog beer there?
Fitz 02.07.2015 @ 11:26am
A dedicated barrel-aged tap? Yowzers
BrewDog Rich 02.07.2015 @ 10:50am
Dave - Do we want to look around what's in the rest of your head at this point? Probably not... ;)

Nick - I was always a Virtua Racing guy - Daytona was tough to get those drifts going!

Lloydy - I've no idea, I can check though

Balvenie - Matt beat me to it!
BrewDog Matt 02.07.2015 @ 10:40am
@ Balvenie - I'm normally a stickler for this one too but in this case it's accurate, we're exclusively stocking American whiskey in Two-Bit.
Dave H 02.07.2015 @ 10:39am
It's like you walked into my head, had a look around, then said 'Right. Let's build this for real.'

Looking forward to dropping some coins and downing some beers very soon :)
nick 02.07.2015 @ 10:35am
Daytona Racing - wow. The late eighties called. It wants my childhood back. Spent far, far too many ten p's on that machine back in the day
Lloydy 02.07.2015 @ 10:31am
"exclusive Billy Frank’s jerky". Whatever happened to "Texas Joes" jerky, if I recall correctly, James made an investment along with one of the "Dragons Den".
Balvenie 02.07.2015 @ 10:31am
Can you spell whisky properly please?!
Nitin 02.07.2015 @ 9:47am
Bar looks great guys
