New Brewery Update and some news on BrewDog bars

Some exciting developments on the new brewery project in the last few days.

The £7m project, funded by the people who drink our beer through Equity for Punks, is due to begin building on Monday 27th February.

Six different companies returned tenders for the building with the winning tender being submitted by Mansell who we are very happy to be working with on this project. They have given us early July as a date for the 3000m2 building to be completed which means we should be installing equipment in August, commissioning in September and hopefully brewing by October or November 2012.

We already own the site at Balmacassie having completed a deal in 2011. We also bought the adjacent field here – a total of 3.6 acres. Initially we will only develop one of them, leaving the adjacent one as a field until we need extra space at which point we will develop it, meaning we have loads of room to grow at the new location.

The new state of the art BrewDog craft brewery will create 25 new jobs immediately, rising to over 75 during the next five years.

We have now also finalised the deal for our new BrewHouse. The supplier is the German company Rolec, who also built the Brooklyn, Stone, Lagunitas. Mr Wolfgang Rolec is as close to an engineering rock star as they come and a ture craft beer revolutionary.

In other news, work is progressing nicely on BrewDog Nottingham and we should be ready to rock around the 25th of Feb.

We also have the license hearing for BrewDog Leeds this week and have finally signed the papers (it took forever!) on BrewDog Newcastle and work will be starting there later this week too.

Oh and watch out for Libertine Porter - our massively hoppy porter, and IPA is Dead Simcoe on draft in our bars from today. They both rock!

I reckon a great big beer bonus for the building workers if they complete the job ahead of schedule. That would motivate me!

Great progress Captain, but who promoted you from Director of Stuff which is the best job title I have come accross. By the way don't can all your beer, bottles are superior in every way.

Great news, hope they deliver on time and you can bring everything back in-house. Is there going to be a brewery tap at the new plant - or just production only?
