Here are some of the beer focused initiatives from our BrewDog Blueprint released yesterday – you can download and read the full document here.
To underline our commitment to beer quality our brand new distribution centre near Glasgow will soon become Europe’s first ever fully-refrigerated beer warehouse for national distribution. It will also feature a taproom and takeaway service too!
We live or die based on the contents of your glass so our breweries are equipped with state of the art labs and quality teams. Brewing in Scotland, America (and soon China and Australia) we will brew closer to our customers which is better for beer quality and the environment.
We last packaged cask beer nearly ten years ago, but we are bringing it back. With our Draft House bars serving perfect cask ale now is the time to relaunch BrewDog in cask – look for Dead Pony Club hitting these bars in mid-November, with more to follow.
Our existing take on cask beer is getting a revamp going forward too – at present we have rocked 5AM Saint, Dead Pony Club and East Coast Crush on LIVE but we will be offering a different BrewDog beer on LIVE in our bars every month, as voted for by members of the I Hardcore You BrewDog Facebook page.
2019 will see us bringing back barrel-ageing with a vengeance. Eight new barrel-aged imperial stouts and three barley wines from our new barrel warehouse – now named the Hinterlands as suggested by Equity Punk Robert Turnbull. We are also working with a cooper on our own custom casks.
This year we had a serious setback with faulty OverWorks bottles, but we have used this setback to make the OverWorks offerings even better. We have redesigned the packaging, fine-tuned the beers and will release a new BrewDog OverWorks range later this year!
We are set to work with the best in the business on a new range of classic beer styles for Draft House. Expect a Pale Ale brewed with Ken Grossman of Sierra Nevada, a wheat beer produced in collaboration with George Schneider from Schneider Brewing and we are working with Victory’s Bill Covaleski on a pilsner.
Plus for our BrewDog bars and online shop we are soon to collaborate with these seven incredible UK breweries! Fans of DEYA, Northern Monk, Wild Beer Co, Verdant, Magic Rock, Fierce Beer and Buxton – watch this space…
As well as all of the above we are dialling in some epic new brews, such as:-
- 30 Day IPA, a 6.1% West Coast IPA heavily dry-hopped and cold-chained end to end to lock in the volatile hop aromas and flavours. This will be the new gold standard for freshness in UK craft beer.
- The BrewDog Wildcards return in 2019 rocking custom artwork in their small-batch cans. Expect a Brut IPA, rum-aged porter, oat & cream DDH IPA and a black East Coast IPA.
- Allsopps IPA, our revival of one of the formative India Pale Ales to its 250 year-old recipe, as worked on with renowned beer historian Martyn Cornell.
These initiatives are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the BrewDog Blueprint. You can download it here and check out all that we are excited about for the months and years ahead. Rest assured our true north – brewing amazing craft beer – will always remain the same.
Check back tomorrow for a rundown on things our community can expect very soon.
