Only 1 day left to invest in BrewDog... www.brewdog.com/equityforpunks

The last twelve months have been amazing for everyone here at BrewDog, even before last Saturday - but the annual shareholder party that is our Punk AGM is one of the highlights of our year! Gathering 6,000 of our awesome Equity Punks in the AECC and pouring 46,500 beers for them makes for one hell of an Annual General Meeting (and the UK’s largest, to boot).

And if you’d like to join in next year, you have less than a week left to become an Equity Punk, as our share offering closes at 11am on Wednesday 20th April.

With the support of our shareholders, we have achieved a huge amount since our last AGM:-

-        Raised a world-record £16m (and counting) through Equity for Punks IV

-        Dialled in a custom-built, state of the art 300HL brewery

-        Brewed 65 different beers

-        Started construction on the epic BrewDog Columbus

-        Opened bars in sixteen sites around the world

-        Developed the Lone Wolf distillery to revolutionise the spirits industry

-        248 (and counting) BrewDog crew gaining Cicerone status

-        Increased pension contributions and private healthcare for our staff

-        Released the recipes to every single beer we have ever made

With beers in hand, our assembled army of shareholders gathered for James and Martin’s lowdown on exactly how their investment is making a difference (a snapshot of which can be found at the end of this blog).

The overall philosophy of BrewDog has not changed – and it never will. Everything we do comes down to what is in your glass. The unremitting focus on beer quality is the reason we unlock the brewhouse doors every morning – and the investment of our awesome Equity Punks will ensure this continues as we unleash our new Site 3 brewery and industry-leading sensory labs and QA programme (our 300HL system is being unleashed for the first time with a brew of Punk IPA this morning!).

Another thing that happened at the #PunkAGM2016 was a line being drawn in the sand. We entrenched our independence into our constitution; marking our philosophy in stone. Following the raft of recent takeovers and buyouts of breweries embracing cash over craft, a motion was proposed – and passed – to ensure that BrewDog can 'never be sold to a monolithic purveyor of industrial beer', even if we wanted to (which we very much do not).

So with the formalities out of the way, our assembled investors got down to some seriously amazing beer and epic music, led by the rocking UK Subs, Frightened Rabbit and Idlewild. With a range of great food from independent producers, talks and tastings from invited craft brewers, brand new merchandise and even board games and table tennis battles with the legendary Gavin Rumgay – it was one hell of a party.

With less than a week left of Equity for Punks IV, there is still time to find out more about becoming an investor and earmarking your ticket for #PunkAGM2017.   But in the meantime here’s to everyone who helped make this year’s AGM the best ever.

“This is my fourth AGM and it’s definitely the best. The change [in BrewDog] has been amazing to witness!”

- Mark, Equity for Punks Investor

“I grew up when beer was yellow and had no flavour, so we gravitated towards European beers. So to be here in Northern Scotland talking about big flavourful beers is a fucking Victory.”

- Bill Covaleski, Victory Brewing Company

“My wife has family in Chicago so we can’t wait for Columbus to open, it’s going to be hard to resist every time we go to the US!”

- Graham, Equity for Punks Investor

“This AGM is amazing to see – thousands of people and wide, honest discussion. If anyone doesn’t find it inspiring there must be something wrong with them!”

- Paul Jones, Cloudwater

“It was great to try the spirits today! Seeing the kit and finding out more about it was the best thing I did today – it’s really exciting!”

- Graeme, Equity for Punks Investor

“We are in this for the beer, and we are here to stay.”

- Martin Dickie, co-founder of BrewDog

5th AGM and it was the best one yet really enjoyed the Modern Times tasting and probably my favourite after Stone 2 years ago.

Not sure how many more people can get into the AECC without causing an issue. Is it practical to put a giant cover over Pittodrie and people can stand on the pitch or sit in the stands?

Brilliant day guys but nearly 5 days later and I'm still rough.tokyo has a lot to answer for,far too lovely and far too easy to drink!!!! Roll on next year.

Thanks to everyone for their comments - it was a long day but a brilliant one!

Scoot - We haven't even finished unpacking this gear from this AGM, we're not going to think about next year's for a long time yet (for the sake of our Events team if no-one else)
Matt Pridding 13.04.2016 @ 3:33pm
Third AGM and it's does get better every year.
Hoping it stays in Aberdeen for 2017, being in the city and having a trip up to Ellon really does make the weekend.
Scoot 13.04.2016 @ 3:12pm
Don't take the AGM away from Aberdeen.....please!

Cause if it goes, I fear it will never come back.

This wee north east corner of Scotland needs events like this.

That means you can do roadshows elsewhere though. Festivals even. Beer festivals :-)

I only become an Equity Punk a few weeks ago and missed out on the AGM this year (a great reason to join in my view), really looking forward to the chance to attend next year!!
