THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BREWDOG BAR HUNT

THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BREWDOG BAR HUNT

Things are moving fast on the banks of the Murarrie – with the awesome news last week that our plans have been approved we are on schedule to start construction of our Australian brewery in July. The dream is becoming a reality – super-fresh BrewDog craft beer brewed in and served to our legion of fans in Australia. If you count yourself as such, then we need your help.

We are launching the Great Australian BrewDog Bar Hunt – and you could score AUD$1,000!

Yes, despite the amazing work of our team, there are but three of them (we are still on the lookout for a Head of Production in Oz). Hunting for sites for the first BrewDog bars would mean our crew having to search around 1 million square miles. Each. So we really need the assistance of lovers of craft beer in Australia. You guys helping us is the best way to ensure we can open a BrewDog Bar where you live!

To kick things off we are on the lookout for locations for a BrewDog Bar in the following four cities:-

·       Brisbane

·       Sydney

·       Melbourne

·       Perth

If you aid us by unearthing a site we end up converting into a BrewDog Bar we will reward you with a cool AU$1,000. Nobody knows the feel of our bars better than the men and women who visit them, so we’d rather hook you up with a finder’s fee than some faceless real estate agent. Our home city of Brisbane and the Harbour City of Sydney are our top two priorities, but we want to bring more great beer to the amazing scenes in Melbourne and Perth as well! So what are we/you looking for?

·       1,800 – 4,000 square feet in size (170 – 370 square metres)

·       Ideally away from major licensed/leisure areas – no retail or leisure parks

·       Ground floor location, all on one level preferred.

·       Prominent frontages with lots of cool windows are ideal!

·       Corner sites always work well

Even if you’ve never been lucky enough to visit a BrewDog Bar in the flesh then hopefully you’ll know from reading our blog our checking our social media feeds how they look – and just as importantly, where they are. We love the off-centre, the quirky and the unique. Our bars stand out – as they should, being beacons for beer lovers in their home cities.

Anything you uncover that might be suitable in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth email the details to [email protected] and our team in Australia will check it out; it could be the best email you ever send. You can submit entries into the Great Australian BrewDog Bar Hunt for the next month until the 30th June – so be sure and explore before then! You could end up with a BrewDog Bar in your back yard and AU$1,000 in your back pocket.

Also, leave us a comment as to which city we should rock up to once we have hit the top four on our list!

I think a bar in the St Kilda or Fitzroy area of Melbourne would work very well.

In Melbourne, you'd want to be looking for a place in Brunswick St in Fitzroy or Smith St in Collingwood, even down the tail end of Chapel St in Windsor. The CBD may have some tucked away places as well. Sydney Rd in Brunswick or High St Northcote.

What about New Zealand??

Surry Hills and Newtown in Sydney would be great for your pubs. they really enjoy the nature of the beers that you have to offer. Darlinghurst and Kings Cross are also crying out for a venue like yours.

If you were looking in Adelaide, then the old Stag Hotel would be an ideal venue. Great building, corner venue on a busy street in the heart of Adelaide. Really comes alive during festival time with plenty of options for being a host venue to side shows. This location is crying out for a GREAT bar!!

Might be a bit on the big side...

Manly, NSW, just off the corso.

49-53 N. Steyne Hernrietta Lane, Manly NSW 2095.

This place already has infrastructure in place that might make the fit out cheaper. It has ferry access that connects to Circular Quay which in turn connects to the Airport via train.

This place would be a hit. It has ocean views and solid footflow. You'd have locals and tourists alike coming to it.

Newcastle since it was the other city you were considering for your brewery. Great craft beer scene and near the Hunter.

I know Hobart was not on your list but how about this 315m2 location on Hobart's waterfront that offers seating for over 200 people, loads of glass on a dual access location along with all being on the one level!
