BrewDog Edinburgh to officially open on 22nd March
craft beer party in the capital
This Tuesday, the 22nd March at 7pm we will officially open the doors to our new craft beer bar in Edinburgh , following the growing success of our debut bar, BrewDog Aberdeen, which opened last year. The location of the new venue was crowd-sourced by craft beer fans following an appeal on the BrewDog website for enthusiasts to help find potential locations in their home towns.
We see BrewDog Edinburgh adding to the city’s already burgeoning craft beer scene and making Edinburgh one of the best craft beer destinations in Europe. Unlike the corporate, mainstream giants in the beer world, our customers play a direct role in the development and success of our business. They have helped create new beers, chosen the destination of our new bar and even had the opportunity to buy shares in the company. BrewDog Edinburgh is as much an achievement of the craft beer revolution as it is of BrewDog.
BrewDog Edinburgh is situated at 143, Cowgate, on the premises of a disused ‘Chasers’ bar. The building has been stripped out and transformed into an industrial, utilitarian space, with a reclaimed brick bar that puts the beer at the centre of attention. All the furniture and fittings are reclaimed and 2nd had, our sofas came form a local charity shop. As well as stocking BrewDog beers, the new bar showcases a myriad of diverse and often rare beers from all over the globe, with 14 draught taps and a menu containing hundreds of bottled beers.
Our mission is to make people as passionate about beer as we are and our success with BrewDog Aberdeen proves there is a growing revolt against not only dreary, mass-produced mainstream lagers, but also the faceless and mundane bars that peddle them. People are looking for more than the fizzy, yellow lagers on offer in most pubs and BrewDog Edinburgh will establish another stronghold for the craft beer revolution that is about to sweep the nation. We intend to open 3 more bars in 2011, watch this space.
The launch event on the 22nd is a free event. Just rock up to find out what BrewDog Edinburgh is all about. You will have to taste draft BrewDog beers, sample free pizzas and taste some spectacular guest kegged beers ( Lost Abbey Angel’s Share and Stone Imperial Russian Stout on tap anyone?).
