Our first pair of Equity Punk collabs launch this week

BREWDOG VS OEDIPUS AND LA PIRATA

One of the cornerstones of Equity for Punks V is the amazing support we have received from our growing community throughout Europe. To celebrate the deadline in applications for BrewDog shares being extended until October 15th 2018 we wanted to do something special for our Equity Punks in ten European countries. Specifically, ten epic collaborations with breweries local to them.

And the first two of those are out online to our Equity Punks this coming Wednesday, March 14th

Neverland – BrewDog vs Oedipus

As we revealed in January we have teamed up with European breweries on a series of different beers that will be launched in their country of origin for our customers there. The beers will also be released – in super-rare numbers – online in the BrewDog shop for our army of Equity Punks wherever they happen to live, and then remain in the shop for general sale. First up, we have a collab with the amazing Oedipus for our friends in the Netherlands.

Sander and the team from Oedipus in Amsterdam came to Ellon with a very lucky Equity Punk from that part of the world, Michel Klein. Together they brewed a 5.5% ABV India Pale Lager featuring Centennial, Citra and Nelson Sauvin. Oedipus are the maestros of hop-forward pale beers so our Dutch customers should look forward to Neverland – a clean, crisp new Dutch master. Grassy, piney and with citrus and blackcurrant fruit, this is a perfect spring-time beer.

Al Abordaje! – BrewDog vs La Pirata

The second of the two launching online on Wednesday to Equity Punks we brewed with Aran Leon from the awesome La Pirata in Spain. Riffing on the theme of muscatel wine the beer is a 9% ABV barley wine with added orange peel and aged on toasted oak chips. The craft beer scene in Spain is growing in a more incredible fashion than pretty much anywhere else in Europe, so we were psyched to welcome Aran to Ellon.

According to Aran, even with this growth craft beer in Spain accounts for around 1% of total beer sold there so it is wonderful to see these brewers stand up and gain an audience. Al Abordaje! is 65 IBUs and benefits from an extensive dry-hop addition of Simcoe, Centennial and Citra and is a beer that will taste great now or in several months (maybe years?). If you are an Equity Punk online, look out for it on Wednesday. If you're in Spain a full launch will take place on Friday!

We aren’t done there of course, with eight more collaborations in the tanks or awaiting their own brewdays. Here’s the list of the other incredible European brewers who will be joining us in Ellon…

  • Ireland - YellowBelly
  • France – Brasserie de la Goutte D’Or
  • Italy – Birrificio Italiano
  • Germany – BRLO
  • Norway – Amundsen
  • Austria – Bevog
  • Sweden – Brewski
  • Denmark – To Øl

Our collaborations with Oedipus and La Pirata launch online to Equity Punks this coming Wednesday, March 14th. Any of the super limited-quantity remaining will go on general sale online on Thursday before the public launch on draft and in bottle in the countries of origin on Friday!

If you are in Spain, La Pirata are hosting a special Meet the Brewer at 2pm on Friday 16th at the Barcelona Beer Festival and then the beer will be launched in BrewDog Barcelona at 8pm. For our friends in the Netherlands, head to the Oedipus taproom for 5pm and Fresh Beer Friday to find the beer pouring there!

We love the fact that beer-fans from all corners of Europe have joined our community and invested in Equity for Punks V – it proves that when it comes to craft beer borders mean nothing with everyone sharing the same passion.

I'm very glad to hear that you made something with La Pirata. Very good beer. I'd love to get their beers easier than today, they do not have a very good distribution in France.
Anyway, I'll get some collag beers to check what you've done with them, it surely will great !
