RIDE TO THE HORIZON WITH THE BREWDOG CHAIN GANG

A quartet of Grand Tours on the horizon

RIDE TO THE HORIZON WITH THE BREWDOG CHAIN GANG

Our global cycling club, the BrewDog Chain Gang, unites anyone with a shared passion for craft beer and hitting the road on two wheels. Since launching last year we have welcomed over 5,000 pedal-powered beer fans into our ranks, across 140 cities. Between them, they have covered tens of thousands of miles on (and off) road before winding down with epic beer and food afterwards. This amazing community exists to have fun and conquer challenges whilst seeing the country like never before – and if you’d like to do the same then we have a quartet of legendary events coming up.

Together, we are heading to the heartlands of cycling as well as taking a unique look at our homeland. Just head to our Chain Gang page to get all the details and join – or start – a local chapter!

We have teamed up with Le Domestique and Let’s Go Velo on creating four unmissable routes that roll into mainland Europe or take the roads less travelled around northern Scotland – all of which are available to book or register for right now. Each of these four Grand Tours have a discount for BrewDog Chain Gang members and BrewDog Equity Punks! Ever fancied riding the iconic cobblestones and bergs of the Tour of Flanders AND visiting the world-famous Westvleteren Brewery? Then read on…

Ride 1 – London to Paris (May 30th – June 2nd) with Le Domestique

It doesn’t get any bigger for cycling fans than finishing a stage on the Champs Elysees; we have teamed up with Le Domestique on a custom route from Clapham Common to the Arc de Triomphe. Arriving with perfect timing to visit BrewDog Le Marais, which will have just opened, this 300km ride has minimal climbing and is fully supported throughout.

Ride 2 – Belgium (September 27th – 29th) with Le Domestique

Alternatively gear up for the toughest – but most rewarding – challenge in European cycling; riding the bergs of Flanders. This unmissable route also visits Westvleteren’s In de Vrede café and the De Struise and Gentse Gruut breweries – plus includes an Orval-themed dinner at De Abt in Ghent. The last weekend in September can’t come soon enough.

Back home we are again working with Le Domestique on a custom route for our Chain Gang members looking to explore the backlands of our home coastline. The ultimate adventure for the seasoned road cyclist, this four-day event will start and finish in Inverness, taking in a challenging yet stunning route around the epic coast of northern Scotland.

Ride 4 – BrewDog Sportiv (July 21st) with Let’s Go Velo

Finally, and even closer to home, we are hosting the second running of the annual BrewDog Sportiv with our friends at Let’s Go Velo. Set for mid-July, and with 100 tickets sold already, the peloton will roll out of DogTap and through Aberdeenshire before returning to our brewery taproom for food and beers. With two distances on offer this Sportiv has options for any cycle fan!

You can join the BrewDog Chain Gang here and can also check out the most recent routes and updates on our dedicated page on Strava.

Equity Punks – as well as receiving a discount on the four Grand Tours above – we will have a dedicated Chain Gang stall at our upcoming #PunkAGM2019 on April 6th and 7th where you can chat to our crewmembers about any of these rides and joining your local chapter. In fact, our DogHouse Merchant City chapter are cycling up from Glasgow to Aberdeen for the Annual General Mayhem!

This is what we love about the BrewDog Chain Gang – people coming together to hit the road thanks to a love for cycling and craft beer. If there are any other routes that combine amazing cycling and incredible beer then let us know in the comments below. Happy rolling!
