nuns_620

Nuns with Guns

A hoppy, dry hopped low ABV reasonably malty pilsner. At 4.2% this amber hued little gem infuses wholesome BrewDog hoppiness with classic lager sharpness. Best enjoyed whilst whistling the European Union’s national anthem (does it have one), munching on a bratwurst and planning a weekend trip to Prague whilst listening to the Beastie Boys.

ABV: 4.2%

OG: 1044

IBU: 25

Hops: Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Amarillo

Malts: Extra-Pale, Cara and Munich

Jack Hammer

A beer which made a brief guest appearance in our bars this summer. Jack Hammer is loaded with so much hops that this 7.2% IPA will literally destroy your mouth with it's 200 theoretical IBUs. The most bitter beer we have ever brewed. This one is not for the feint hearted, elderly or French. If you like hops and bitterness then go ahead. But be warned.

 jackham_620ABV: 7.2%

OG: 1069

IBU: 100

Hops: Centennial and Columbus

Malts: Extra Pale Spring Blend

Cocoa Psycho

A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips.

 coco_620_01

This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

ABV: 10%

OG: 1095

IBU: 85

Hops: Cascade, Fuggles and Goldings

Malts: Extra Pale Spring Blend, Wheat, Cara, Smoked, Black and Roasted Barley

Thanks for the update on the 2011 prototypes, James. Sounds like they are all still available, in one way or another! Glad the raspberries live on in Raspberry Revolver - had some recently in BrewDog Manchester and it was a nice refreshing pint. Have just ordered this years bunch!

I thought jackhammer was suppose to be really bitter. It's nice but my tongue isn't confused enough. 1000IBU all the way sorry. On the other hand cocoa psycho is damn good. Cocoa psycho all the way

I tried Nuns With Guns, Hoppy Christmas, Jack Hammer & Cocoa Psycho at Brewdog Nottingham last night (Thanks James !)Jack Hammer was easily my favourite, but I am keen to try Cocoa Psycho again.P.S. The brew sheet shows Jack Hammer as 7.2%, but the bottle label says 7.4%. Is the bottle a different strength, or is it a typo ??-

Prototype 17.6 also became Raspberry Revolver (trashy blonde base infused with raspberries for a nice tartness).Seems to be stocked in the bars on tap at presentJet to try any of these but looking forward to trying the stout and nuns with guns.

The Scotch Ale became the new Dogma and was the winner from 2011.Dead Pony Club was also based on the low ABV hoppy beer from the 2011 prototypes.

Could you give a shout out when you are running low?

Jackhammer sounds awesome, but since I'm in the States and can never be sure how fresh the IPAs from across the pond are after arriving here, I'm gonna have to say Cocoa Psycho.

Loved the Jackhammer - the flavour (and bitterness) really builds as you drink more of it. Had the Cocoa Psycho the other week before it got it's name - also rather lovely.Had hopes for the Nuns With Guns but didn't really have enough going to elevate it from being a just a lager. Would have preferred more malt & the hops didn't really come through either.
