BrewDog & Draft House

BrewDog & Draft House

We’re incredibly excited to announce that we are joining forces with one of the most exciting craft beer bar businesses in the UK, enabling us to bring more amazing beer to more people, across the country. Draft House is an absolute staple for the London craft beer scene (and beyond) and their people, their culture and their awesome spaces are well-respected cornerstones of the craft beer bar scene. As of Monday 26th March, Draft House is now a part of BrewDog.

At BrewDog, we are obsessed with making other people as passionate about amazing craft beer as we are, and in speaking with the Draft House team, we recognised that there is a great opportunity to combine our efforts and continue to elevate the status of beer. We’re here for great beer, and empowering our people to provide incredible experiences and environments in which to experience great beer across our industry.

Beer is, and always has been (and, for the record, always will be) the beating heart of what we do at BrewDog. Every decision we make is for the betterment of craft beer. Draft House does a lot of things outstandingly well, and we’re all in for enabling them to further nail what they do best, and provide support where we can. This is a hugely exciting new adventure for us, and one we’re massively excited to share today.

Charlie McVeigh, Founder of Draft House, has done an absolutely amazing job building the business to this stage. As of today, Charlie will hand over the reins and I will assume the role of MD of Draft House, alongside my role as MD of BrewDog Bars. Effectively though, we are creating one killer team, running an awesome global collection of craft beer bars.

We’ll be continuing to champion the incredible world of amazing, independent craft beer by ensuring Draft House is fully stocked with the world’s best beer from the planet’s most exciting and eclectic craft breweries. We’re also planning to involve the Draft House teams in the development and brew days for a series of beers brewed at our HQ in Aberdeenshire, and these beers will launch across all Draft House sites. Beyond that, we’re just really excited to continue evolving this awesome collection of bars with the Draft House team.

The two most important things in our world are our beer and our people. We’re excited to extend that to our new family at Draft House, and would like to offer a massive welcome to every single one of them.

Together, there’s no telling where we can take craft beer in the UK and beyond.

David McDowall,

MD BrewDog Bars.

There should be no need to get stamps from Draft House bars for the Visa list. Best bet to find out about pinball machines is to ask them directly! :)

Just posted a comment about Visas & Pinball, and realised I was not signed in.
The comment was from Nigel Parsons (Cardiff)

Great news.
As someone else said, an easy way to extend the range of bars, and increase the clientele.
As the discount cards currently won't work, can I assume we don't need to get their 'stamps' in our passports in order to complete the London list?
Ready to check them out, do any have Pinball machines?

Hey everyone! There will be more details over the coming weeks, as our Retail team is working hard to ensure that their time is spent talking to the Draft House team and ensuring a smooth transition. We'll be sure to share updates whenever we can. The current plan is that they remain separate from BrewDog and we have no other plans as of now.

In response to the overwhelming flood of posts asking whether EFP discounts will apply, there are no immediate plans to include EFP discounts at Draft House; as per above, they are operating independently for now.

Our Equity Punk shareholders can keep more up to date with what's happening on our forum - head here for more info! https://forum.brewdog.com

I'd like to know what the future holds for the collaboration cask brew in Milton Keynes between the pub and local micro breweries Hornes and Concrete Cow. Will this important relationship between pub and brewery be jeopardised in favour of beers from Ellon, or will it evolve into something truly fun?

Also Drafthouse has been a strong supporter and sponsor of the local CAMRA branch's beer festival for the past two years where I have been organiser. Although we as branch members are not against Brewdog (many of us including myself are EFP supporters) will the brewery's clash with HQ over the years cause this relationship to end?

Will there be Equity for Punks discounts at Draft Houses then?
Jeremy 27.03.2018 @ 12:45am
Congratulations and it really looked interesting...

Will Draft Houses continue to have a separate identity or be absorbed to become like other BrewDog bars? The new BrewDog Tower Hill is only a couple minutes walk away from my local Draft House, please don't close it!
Mark 26.03.2018 @ 6:48pm
Excellent news. Will be able to get our Efp bar discount there as well? ????
Robert S 26.03.2018 @ 4:43pm
Will these bars count towards the Brewdog passport
Alan Robertson 26.03.2018 @ 4:35pm
So just to clarify, Brewdog has "taken over" Draft House and it's not just a partnership? Will shareholders receive an e-mail outlining costs involved rather than putting it out here for all to see? It sounds like a good step and although I have never heard of the company I hope things work out well for all. How many bars do DH currently run and I take it these will now be added to BDs portfolio of bars?
Richard B 26.03.2018 @ 4:12pm
Does this mean equity for punk discounts will apply in drafthouse boozers?
Pete E 26.03.2018 @ 4:06pm
Will equity punks now get to use our perks in Draft House? ????
Paul 26.03.2018 @ 3:44pm
I have visited all the London ones and they are all worth a visit.
Russ 26.03.2018 @ 3:40pm
Will efp discount be accepted in the draft house bars?
James S 26.03.2018 @ 3:19pm
Great news. So now there is a BrewDog bar here in Milton Keynes. Do I get my EFP discount in Draft House now?

I’ve enjoyed Draft Houses for years and agree with others that this is a quicker, better way of building presence in a key city. Do EFPs own any bar premises as a result of this exciting deal? (i.e. Or is Brewdog PLC simply the leaseholder, as I think we are for all BD bars?)
Neil 26.03.2018 @ 2:46pm
Awesome. Any chance of adding a list of them to the article? Seems to make great business sense. Will they be rebranded as Brewdog and/or added to the new Visa book?
Gooman 26.03.2018 @ 2:41pm
Does that mean the Equity for Punks discount is now valid at Draft House?
Big Al 26.03.2018 @ 1:48pm
Oh Man! I do hope they keep the Pilsner Tank beer in there. That stuff is amazing!
Carys W 26.03.2018 @ 12:21pm
Awesome - does this mean that Guiness will be off the taps in Draft House and will EFP's be able to use their discounts in Draft House in the future?
Ryan 26.03.2018 @ 11:48am
So do this mean we can get discount if we are a shareholder ?
AleBeHonest 26.03.2018 @ 11:19am
Will shareholder discounts be available? And does this increase venues stamping the passport?
Phil 26.03.2018 @ 11:13am
That’s brilliant. Less expensive and quicker than setting up new Brewdog bars is to buy a chain like this. Well Done and good luck
Ian 26.03.2018 @ 11:10am
Will our discount apply in these bars as well?
Beth 26.03.2018 @ 10:31am
Wow, this is huge news
George 26.03.2018 @ 10:27am
This is great news, my work local is a Draft House!
