BREWDOG, THAT PETER CROUCH PODCAST AND… LAOUT
Britain’s favourite podcast has been talking about making a very ‘particular’ sort of new beer for a long, long time. So which brewery do you think decided to take on the challenge of turning Peter Crouch’s Laout into a reality? Yep, you guessed it.… us.
We’ve enlisted the help of the BrewDog Beer Wizard who, together with the Peter Crouch podcast team, have created the Laout – a unique lager-stout hybrid, born out of a conversation, created by our brewers.

WHAT IS THE LAOUT?
It’s a pretty simple equation, to be honest. ‘La’ for lager + ‘out’ from stout = Laout. That’s it. Peter Crouch decided some time ago that mixing lager and stout in a glass made for a delicious beer cocktail. He called it Laout. He spent ages talking about it on That Peter Crouch Podcast (Britain’s No1 podcast, in case you didn’t know). Enter… BrewDog.
DESIGNED BY THE PEOPLE
During the airing of the podcast, the team sent out a call to arms: we wanted the listeners to design the can, so that’s exactly what we did. We were inundated with entries, but it was Simon Painter who emerged triumphant. This colourful creation can only be described as an iconic take on the best of the podcast.
WHAT’S THE BREWDOG LAOUT TASTE LIKE?
Our brewing experts (aka the Beer Wizard and his colleagues) have had a good look at what Crouchy loves about the Laout. After some tasting sessions on the podcast, our guys think they have come up with a solution for a beer which ticks all those boxes of the lager-stout mix.
WHERE CAN I BUY THE LAOUT?
On BrewDog.com. We’ve brewed a limited run of the Laout, a 5.4% beer that is a medley of dark malts with notes of coffee and chocolate, the body is creamy but light, with a fizz that reminds you – there’s lager in here. Shop while stocks last!
THE PODCAST LISTENERS ARE CLEARLY A TALENTED BUNCH…
